Vic Chestnutt dies, and I have someone new to download

Famed Quadriplegic singer songwriter, friends with Michael Stipe of R.E.M., takes his own life on Christmas Day.

Surprise fact about Yours Truly: I hadn’t heard about Vic until his passing. My bad.

  1. It’s really sad I have to discover Vic’s music only after (and because) he is gone. I’d never heard of him either and I’ve been dabbling in folk-rock/alt-country music for quite a while, plus I’m a freakin quad. His music is a cross between Zappa and Guthrie.

    If you listen to the Terry Gross interview. You just know he’s gonna do it. There was the distinct sound of real fear/concern in her voice. I’m sure she wasn’t a bit surprised.
