PS. If you’re wondering why I’m wearing headphones, well, I had to bring my MP3 player to keep my sane during the 5 hour wait. Nothing like listening to Johnny Cash as you watch vendors trying to sell Obama tees to every passerby.
Highlights: Eating cheesy popcorn during the 5 hour wait to get in on the sidewalk outside, getting my chair sniffed for bombs by St. Paul police dogs, drooling over Michelle Obama’s fuschia dress, and screaming with everyone else when he announced himself the nominee (squee!).
Pics to come from long, wonderful experience, which I will forever call my, “Barack Clinches It Day!” It was an 11am - 11pm daylong escapade. I’m zonked.
It’s being recorded from Philly today, airing at 11:30pm EST. If you don’t know anything about Michelle, let’s just put it this way (in the words of Joe Dirt at the Indian’s fireworks stand): “She’s no boring ashy snake. She’s a definite Roman Candle, dude!”
Full of fire and fun, my peoples. She’d make a great First Lady.
