Sex and The City: The Movie

Filed under: Heels, Tiff's Ponderings — Tiffiny @ 8:52 pm

Sooooo…it probably comes as no surprise that I’m a huge devotee of Sex & The City, so when “SITC: The Movie” come out last Friday (OMG squee!) I was needless to say elated beyond any helium balloon.

Saw the fashion frenzy, sex/relationship obsessed film on Saturday with a gf, dressed to the ‘9s, and utterly, completely fell in love.

Bottom line? The movie ain’t perfect. It may even stray away from it’s roots, but it’s poignant, real, and hysterical.

I will miss these characters for the rest of my days.

Goth Prom Goodie-Goodness

So last Monday my BFF and I went to Minneapolis’ annual awesome gothy-goth get-together: Goth Prom!

It was so kick-ass, my peoples. The theme was “Steampunk.” (Think “Van Helsing”).

So with that, I tore up an old bridesmaid dress, put a black corset on over it, wore a fitted black velvet jacket over that, wore my big/stretchy black fishnets underneath with my knee-high black boots, then finished the look off with a gold chain spy/eyeglass, a cameo necklace, a black pearl necklace, a faux nose ring (got a real one now though), and had DARKENED HAIR.

My sis last Sunday royally screwed-up my hair, turning it grey/white, but it was perfect for Goth Prom. I got it fixed on Tues so it’s now red/brown/blonde (very weird, but cute). I’ve had crazy hair issues all week….bleh (that’s another blog altogether).

So anyways, back to Goth Prom. It was HYSTERICAL. A 40 something year old submissive guy kept kissing my boots and even discreetly put a note in my boot (a very naughty one I might add), which I found when I got home whilst undressing, I won a fee piercing, ran into a bunch of old friends, and drank some TASTY UV Vanilla and Cokes. Oh and saw Ron, this local semi-celebrity guy with no legs who has a fetish for chics walking on him in heels (he doesn’t like wheels though…yes I asked).

He refuses to use a wheelchair and the club was so flippin’ dark that I nearly ran him over. Oops :/ So yeah, the guy is like 2 feet tall! Annoying!

Anyways….here are the rest of our Goth Prom piccies!

Purr for Pussycat Shoes

Filed under: Heels, Wheelchair Fashion — Tiffiny @ 8:53 pm

Found an awesome new SEXY, shoe site the other day: Pussycat Shoes

What do think of these babies? They’re called “Spruce” by Bobbi Blu. I know….they kinda cost a lot, $89.95, but they’re teh cute!

They’re Mary Janes (so the strap helps keeps them on), the heels are short and wide, so they’ll sit easier on your foot rests, and well, they’re gorgeously casual.

Simply put: I want ‘em!

So….anyone want to buy me a pair? I’ll bake you a chicken pot pie if you do!

We’re Talkin’ About Oxfords, Ladies (and no, not the school)

Filed under: Heels — Tiffiny @ 8:40 pm

There’s this really fun Fall trend this year that exists in the shoe industry, which they’ve decided to dub the ”Oxford.” It has the traditional male wing-tip accents and lace-up front, yet it’s all perched sexy-like on a heel. How cool is that?! This fine example (on your left) comes from one of my favorite stores, Bebe, and is long-windedly called the “Anna High Heeled Leather Spectator.” They cost $149.00, and are currently out-of-stock due to their popularity. But have no fear! Plenty of other sexy Oxford shoes exist.

Steve Madden (my hands-down fav shoe designer) has a “Reilly” Oxford this season, at a more reasonable price of $89.00. I’m particular to the “wine multi” fabric choice, but that’s just me. Go check out this sexy shoe to decide for yourself.

And you may be wondering the best way to wear this heeled shoe successfully with your footplate. Coming from years of experience,  I highly recommend crossing your legs for starters when going out in-public. Heels being worn on paralyzed ankles tend to make the ankles get tipsy, in the process opening your legs. This is NOT a good thing, unless you’re trying to give your boyfriend a cheap thrill, of course :)

Other wheeled-ladies have also told me that they get their heels to work by pushing the heel all the way back so it slips off behind the footplate, with just the heel-part literally hanging in mid-air. I personally don’t like how this looks, but to each their own.

How do YOU wear your heels? That’s really the question of the day, I think.

A Girl’s Love of Heels Explained: They’re like cupcakes!

Filed under: Heels — Tiffiny @ 8:41 pm

Seriously guys. I know you’ve been probably wondering for years why us girls have this bizarre obsession with high-heels, or did (if we used to be able to walk and decided heels weren’t worth the hassle anymore); or still do, and still wear them while sitting; adoring just how they look just sitting there, all cutesy ‘n stuff, right there on our footplates.

Well, it dawned on me the other day why I love heels. They’re fucking cute! Much like how cupcakes are cute! Have you ever showed up at a party and had that, “OMG!” moment after seeing cupcakes adorably presented on a cake platter? Well, that feeling (for me at least) is the the exact same reaction my body feels when I see an amazing pair of glam heels at Saks, or on some hot chic walking downtown.

Heels = cupcake cutness!

I hope this explanation has at least helped you get the tiniest sliver of insight into why we collect our beloved heels. Consider it my service to society :)
